London’s NHS physical activity team and the Pro-Active partnerships, in collaboration with key stakeholders, have been working together to increase participation in sport and physical activity across London. Public access to information is crucial to this approach and consequently the teams have created a one-stop shop of sport and physical activity opportunities in the capital.
This on-line resource gives comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date information signposting people to a range of physical activity opportunities and provides supporting data such as whether an opportunity is fully inclusive. The resource is also an invaluable tool for sport and health industry professionals to extract key statistics about London or a local area.

Widgets
A web widget is a portable chunk of code that can be installed and executed within any separate HTML-based web page by an end user. The code can be embedded into third party sites by any user on a page where they have rights to administer content.GAL has developed its own widget to be used on its partner’s websites as a signposting tool to provide quick and easy access for the user. The widget is intended to be strategically placed on relevant pages of the host’s website e.g. leisure centre’s, sports activities, youth pages and so on.
